This is my 35th year teaching here at Downsville Central School, and my fifteenth full year teaching Driver Education. This year also marks my eleventh year teaching Driver Ed in Roscoe. For the past twenty summers I have taught Driver Education at SUNY Broome as well. I also teach private driving lessons on weekends and evenings for Adaptive Driving Services in Binghamton. I have really enjoyed teaching Driver Education to the over 2,500 students that I have taught in the past 15 years. During the 34 years that I have been at DCS, I have served the District as the Athletic Director for the past 33 years; as well as coaching Boys Varsity Basketball, Varsity Softball, and Varsity Baseball. I have taught business courses, elementary and middle school computers 2nd Grade ELA and physical education. During my 33 years as Athletic Director, I have also served as the President of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's Section IV, as well as serving on the following committees: Finance Committee, Mixed Competition Committee, Drug and Alcohol Awareness Committee, Extended Eligibility Committee and Classification Committee. I am presently the Section IV Basketball Chairman and serve on the New York State Public High School Athletic Association's State Boys Basketball Committee.
I live in Binghamton with my son Lucas and dog Jackson.
I look forward to working with you to teach your teen to become a responsible driver. We are forming a partnership to work together to teach your new driver the fundamentals and skills of driving. It is important to practice as much as possible with your son/daughter and to be a good role model when you are behind the wheel. As of October 2010 the Department of Motor Vehicles requires that all permit holders have 50 or more hours of supervised driving with parents or guardians before they take their road test.
